I work across Sussex, Kent and Surrey offering horse riding lessons in flatwork and jumping. My aim is to develop the partnership between horse and rider in a positive and progressive way. During a first lesson I will ask for some history such as how long you have had the horse/pony, have there been any problems or injury’s and what your aspirations are – ‘what do you want to get from our sessions together?’ Your aspirations may range from being able to enjoy hacking out, to improving your score in the dressage or show jumping arena. I focus on developing the riders’ awareness of their position and how to then be able to make positive changes to how their horse is working giving you clear explanations and exercises for you to continue to develop between lessons.
Working a horse from the ground is an excellent opportunity to improve your horses balance both physically and emotionally. It is also an opportunity for the rider/handler to develop their understanding of how the horse moves and responds to our body language. Lessons can incorporate lungeing or in hand work as appropriate.
Prior to a first lesson a Rider registration form will need to be completed to ensure that I have any relevant medical information and emergency contact details.
Please can you give me at least 24 hours’ notice so that I am able to rearrange my diary. Lessons will go ahead in all weathers unless it is unsafe to do so – snow, ice, strong winds, and thunder storms. I do understand that there may be unforeseen circumstances such as lameness or illness which may result in postponing or cancelling and a new booking can be made.
