“After having two children and returning to riding I felt that my physical riding skills were starting to inhibit my horses’ progression. I had heard of Amelia s training methods through a friend and decided to enlist her help! I was hooked from the first lesson, I found she enhanced the good aspects of my riding whist making me aware of the weaker areas and how my body position was affecting the horse’s movement. Amelia’s coaching skills allowed me to reproduce the positive aspects of the lesson time and time again even on my own in the school and out hacking!
“I have owned my own horse for the last two years and have had
numerous lessons over that time. On many occasions I have been left
feeling that riding a horse can be too complicated for words. My
confidence in doing even a simple dressage test evaporated. After
several months with Amelia, who uses the 'Ride with your mind'
technique by Mary Wanless, I now feel that I am learning riding
skills that my horse responds really well to. The visualizations she
uses are brilliant at making certain concepts easily accessible and
even easier to recall when schooling on my own. Amelia teaches with
plenty of laughter and smiles and has a very positive approach when
trying to correct my worst habits and wonky riding position (owning
to age and childbirth!!). Most lessons seem to have at least one
'eureka' moment and finally, I feel my confidence returning.”

“Prince Harry here, I've been asked to give my view on Amelia. I suppose
the thought is that one can always rely on royalty to be a good judge.
Before Amelia my life was good.I tripped a lot, didn¹t use my
backend, but essentially did pretty much what I liked. Mum lacked
concentration so I used to have great fun throwing the odd buck or spook in
during our lessons, just to liven things up and put mum off what she was
doing or if I was really on form unseat her. I like to think of myself as
a bit of a perfectionist and if mum didn't get her position just right I
couldn't possibly work correctly. Alas everything has changed with Amelia
mum doesn't change her position no matter what I throw at her and her
position with Amelia's help (I don't know what she actually does seems like
human neighing from the ground) is actually becoming consistently good.
Although I didn't like how they were making me use my body in the
beginning, I must say its becoming much more comfortable and
well one's modesty almost prevents one from saying this but I do see humans
look at me working in my new way comment on how handsome I look.”

“Amelia has only been teaching me since January but after each lesson I can feel real improvement and something to work with when I'm schooling on my own. I'm amazed at how far we've come in a few short weeks. I find it really fascinating that using the right muscles can have such a positive impact on Andy (the bestest horse in the world) and that helps me know when I'm getting it right. She's an excellent teacher - when something doesn't work the first time she finds a different way of describing it until she finds a way that works for me, she's great fun and I always leave my lesson on a real high.”

“Harry and I met Amelia almost a year ago. We were a long established “happy hacking” duo, both rider and horse were defensive with insecurities and fearful of one another. We were school phobic’s especially on the left hand rein and as for jumps they were to be looked at, ran out at or just run through or just left to others to tackle!!!!!
And so we began our amazing journey with Amelia. At the beginning I was asked to think about cereal boxes, merry go round poles, plugging in and switching on tendons once the pain came we had got it and the transformation began. Suddenly I had a horse beneath me and carrying me! Each and every lesson is an extremely positive learning experience. Harry and I now have a trusting partnership we understand one another. We are beginning to enjoy all disciplines and have finally mastered the left hand canter transition. We are enjoying the challenge of learning to jump and recognise that all the flat work (and hard work!) over the past ten months has contributed to the success of riding small jumping courses and are confidently taking on those jumps with a good rhythm. We still hack for hours on end but we school whilst out there it has taken riding to another dimension. We have grown into one another it is a very rewarding partnership and I always look forward to our lessons with Amelia. I am so proud of everything we have achieved so far and look forward with glee to the coming months and the continuing journey.
What next? Well our next challenge is to go to a show and do some dressage... so watch this space.”

“Amelia really makes you think about what you are doing and how it affects the way your horse performs, with good analogies that you can relate to. Even small changes in the way I sit in the saddle can make a big difference to my horse's carriage.”
