Jumping lessons

From my time at Waterstock I soon learnt that the basis for jumping lies in your flatwork skills. The ability to develop a rhythmical canter with the horse supple in its back and light in the rein will improve your ability to 'see a stride’. I like to start with work over ground poles, which will then progress, to jumping fences. All levels of rider will be catered for and the session will be structured as necessary. A first jump lesson would start in a similar way to a flat lesson – drawing the riders awareness to the positive effect of their position before moving on to poles and fences as applicable.
