Watching Lars teach on a daily basis was an inspiration and I became aware that the same themes applied to all levels of riders from the novice to the advanced – balance and framework allowing harmony between horse and rider.
To consolidate and further enhance my knowledge I studied the work of Mary Wanless – an expert in rider biomechanics, founder of RWYM™ and renowned author. This work has allowed my coaching skills to broaden and enabled me to reach out to a wider variety of horse and rider combinations.
Mary’s technique specialises in working out what the talented “natural” riders do with out thinking and making this knowledge available to riders of all levels. I am a Senior RWYM™ Coach and teach alongside Mary on riding and horse simulator courses at her Oxfordshire base – Overdale Equestrian Centre.
Early years were spent in the Pony Club where I passed my B test. After leaving school I spent a year at Plumpton College on a National Certificate course and also studied for my BHS Stage three. I then continued my training with Mary Ann Horn, who is a well-known dressage judge and trainer, and passed my BHSII.
I now have a lovely young (rising 5) Hannovarian gelding by Welt Hit. We are about to start progressing through the levels of Affiliated Dressage. I have previously competed horses for clients and am able to take horses on schooling/holiday livery.
